WHAT ARE DENSE BREASTS AND WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU?

Breast density is a description of how your breast appears on a mammogram. It is determined by the radiologist, the doctor reading the mammogram.

Ultrasound uses sonar, or high-frequency sound waves, to capture real-time images of organs inside the body. This is a noninvasive and generally painless exam.

BREAST MRI AND ABBREVIATED BREAST MRI WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Unlike mammography, which uses low-dose X-rays to image the breast, MRI uses powerful magnetic fields and radio waves to create images of the breast.

Most major insurances will cover a screening mammogram. However, not everyone is fortunate enough to have coverage. There are several national and local resources available to women who may need financial help in order to receive their annual screening mammogram.
